The Mobile Library is a ‘branch library on wheels’. It is free to join and open to everyone. It visits various sites across the borough on a weekly timetable.

The Mobile Library is fitted with a step lift for wheelchair users or for anyone who has difficulty in managing the steps.

How do I join?

  • If you are already a member of Walsall Libraries, you can use your current library card on the Mobile Library.
  • If you are not a member already,it is free and easy to join the library. You just need to fill in a Walsall Libraries’ Application Form or we can do it for you.

Where do we visit?

Have a look at our timetable to find your nearest Mobile Library stop. We visit streets and estates, main roads, local supermarkets and schools* (*term time only)

What can I borrow?

Stock includes:

  • Adult fiction in standard and large print.
  • Books, music and DVDs in Asian languages (Urdu, Panjabi, Gujarati, Bengali).
  • Popular non-fiction titles including biographies, history, travel, health, crafts and hobbies.
  • Books to help with projects, assignments and homework.
  • Books for children and teenagers of all ages.
  • Audio books for children and adults in different formats
  • Local and Council information

What else is provided?

  • Free request service. This gives customers access to resources within Walsall Libraries and beyond
  • The vehicle is equipped with 3 public access computers
