Criminal records

  • Old Bailey Online contains the court proceedings of the Old Bailey – London’s Central Criminal Court from 1674 to 1913

  • The Birmingham and Midland Society covers the areas of Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire
  • GENUKI provides a virtual reference library of genealogical information with particular relevance to the UK and Ireland
  • Genes Reunited enables you to start your family tree and search 515 million family history records

Military records and organisations

  • Commonwealth War Graves Commission allows you to search for the war dead from both the first and second world wars
  • Lives of the First World War – join the Imperial War Museum in sharing stories and images of your relatives who served in this conflict
  • National Archives holds some military service records, campaign medal card indexes and a selection of regimental war diaries
  • Roll of Honour contains a list of war memorials in England, Scotland and Wales
  • Veterans UK provides support services to military personnel and gives information on obtaining service records
  • Western Front Association is aimed at those who have an interest in the Great War of 1914-1918
